ADB Chief Praises Sri Lanka’s Economic Stabilization Initiatives in Meeting with PM Harini

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya engaged in discussions with Masato Kanda, President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), during her official visit to Manila. The meeting underscored the strong partnership between Sri Lanka and the ADB, according to the Office of the Prime Minister. President Kanda praised Sri Lanka’s initiatives to stabilize the economy and facilitate recovery following the recent economic crisis.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister conveyed Sri Lanka’s gratitude for the ADB’s ongoing development cooperation. She emphasized the significance of ADB-supported projects in key sectors that are crucial to the nation’s recovery and development efforts.

Additionally, while in Manila, Prime Minister Amarasuriya met with Yingming Yang, Vice President for South, Central, and West Asia at the Asian Development Bank. This meeting focused on assessing the progress of current ADB-funded projects in Sri Lanka and exploring opportunities to enhance collaboration in areas such as health, education, and social development, as reported by the Office of the Prime Minister.
