Dipped Products PLC (DPL) recently celebrated its 50th anniversary by ringing the market opening bell on the trading floor of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), marking half a century of operations.
Founded in 1976, DPL is a leading manufacturer of protective handwear and a provider of plantation management services. The company benefits from access to premium natural rubber, serving customers in over 70 countries globally. DPL is also a member of Hayleys PLC, one of Sri Lanka’s largest diversified conglomerates. The company has been listed on the CSE since its inception and has received numerous accolades, including the Presidential Export Awards for Innovative Export and Best Exporter in the Latex Rubber Product category.
In his opening remarks, CSE CEO Mr. Rajeeva Bandaranaike stated, “As the CSE continues its path toward fostering sustainable and inclusive financial growth, we take great pride in supporting companies such as Dipped Products PLC who have contributed meaningfully to national development, the livelihoods of Sri Lankans, and the strength of our export sector on the global stage.”
During the market opening ceremony, DPL Managing Director Mr. Pushpika Janadheera commented, “Marking 50 years since our incorporation in 1976 is a proud milestone for Dipped Products PLC and a reflection of the trust placed in us by our stakeholders. From our beginnings in Sri Lanka to becoming a globally recognized hand protection manufacturer, our journey has been driven by innovation, resilience, and strong values.”
Mr. Janadheera further highlighted DPL’s long history as a listed company, having joined the CSE at the exchange’s inception, and stated, “We have remained committed to good governance, sustainable growth, and long-term value creation. This bell ringing symbolizes not only our achievements over the past five decades but also our continued commitment to building a stronger future for our stakeholders and contributing to Sri Lanka’s export economy.”
