The 23rd edition of Sri Lanka’s premier fashion event, Colombo Fashion Week, is set to showcase designers from Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and South Africa, according to the organizers. Ajay Vir Singh, Managing Director of Colombo Fashion Week, announced at the launch event that the show has partnered with the BRICS International Fashion Federation, of which Colombo Fashion is a founding member.
“This platform can be leveraged for destination marketing through fashion, arts, and culture,” Vir Singh stated.
The Colombo Fashion Week will be held from April 1 to 4 at the Cinnamon Life City of Dreams. This year’s event is supported by Mastercard, NDB Wealth Management, Nestle Lanka, Cargills Sports and Beverages, Vision Care, and Hameedias.
A notable feature this year is Mastercard’s commitment to extend its transaction-based donations to support the construction of a cancer hospital in Karapitiya, as part of its partnership with Colombo Fashion Week, according to Sandun Hapugoda, Country Manager for Sri Lanka and Maldives at Mastercard.
