The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce recently facilitated a high-level networking event at the Cinnamon Grand, Colombo, bringing together Sri Lanka’s business, diplomatic, and government sectors. The event was graced by the presence of the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment, Hon. Arun Hemachandra, who served as the Chief Guest.
The gathering attracted Ambassadors, High Commissioners, and Consuls General from nearly 50 countries, along with representatives from key state institutions. This unique event provided an exceptional platform for the private sector and diplomats to engage directly, share insights, and explore collaborative opportunities.
During his address, Hon. Arun Hemachandra emphasized Sri Lanka’s ongoing economic recovery, citing growth in agriculture, industry, and services, as well as improved fiscal management. He praised the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce for its pivotal role in connecting the private sector with international partners, underscoring the importance of collaboration among public, private, and diplomatic entities to enhance trade, promote exports, and support sustainable development.
The Chairperson of the Ceylon Chamber, Mr. Krishan Balendra, reiterated the Chamber’s commitment to linking the private sector with global markets. He stated, “Events like this create advantageous opportunities for our members to discover new markets, diversify their exports, and form partnerships that can grow over the long term.”
The consistent engagement of foreign missions with the Ceylon Chamber underscores the diplomatic community’s recognition of the Chamber as a crucial bridge between Sri Lanka’s businesses and the international community.
The evening concluded with an extended networking session, providing participants the opportunity to connect with the diplomatic community and government representatives, aiming to forge connections that could enhance Sri Lanka’s business landscape and international partnerships.
