The Technocity Take a Strong Rs. 50 million Solidarity Effort to Rebuild Hope

The Technocity (Pvt) Ltd, Sri Lanka’s leading authorized IT distributor for globally recognized brands such as HP, ASUS, MSI, Lenovo, BenQ, Raidmax, and Kaspersky, has launched a significant Rs. 50 million relief initiative in response to the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah. The company’s efforts are focused on assisting families, children, and schools in the most severely affected areas, in close collaboration with government authorities.

The cyclone’s impact has extended beyond physical destruction, with landslides and floods severely damaging the digital infrastructure essential to community life. Numerous schools have suffered extensive harm to their facilities and educational resources, disrupting learning for thousands of students.

Recognizing these urgent needs, The Technocity (Pvt) Ltd has committed Rs. 50 million towards relief efforts. This includes Rs. 20 million in cash allocated for rebuilding physical infrastructure and Rs. 30 million dedicated to providing advanced computer devices and ICT facilities. The initiative will supply 50 Techno View 65″ and 86″ Interactive AI Smart Board Display Panels, alongside laptops, all-in-one printers, and photocopiers to the hardest-hit regions. These resources aim to enable schools to resume teaching and to help restore modern learning environments for affected students.

These technological contributions serve not only as vital educational tools but also as symbols of hope, continuity, and resilience. By restoring classrooms and reconnecting communities, they reaffirm to children that their future remains secure and prioritized, even in the aftermath of disaster.

This humanitarian initiative was developed in collaboration with the Office of the Prime Minister, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, who also serves as Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education. On December 15, 2025, Mr. Famy Ismail, Chairman and Founder of The Technocity Pvt Ltd, officially handed over the cheque to Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya during a meeting at Temple Trees.

Mr. Famy Ismail, also Chairman and Founder of Laptop.lk Pvt Ltd, underscored the ethical responsibility guiding this mission. “Moments like these remind us that humanity must lead the way, especially when infrastructure damage disrupts access to education and the critical IT systems communities rely on,” he stated, reaffirming the company’s dedication to helping families rebuild with dignity and strength.

As Sri Lankan families work together to recover and rebuild, The Technocity’s compassionate leadership stands as a symbol of unity and national solidarity. At a time when many feel vulnerable and overlooked, this initiative reinforces the enduring truth that Sri Lankans support one another, especially during the most challenging times.
