Sri Lanka sells extra Rs1bn Treasury bills after auction

FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – The Sri Lankan public debt management office has announced the sale of treasury bills amounting to 1,006 million rupees through a tap issue, with average yields of 7.95 percent and 8.19 percent. This transaction has contributed to a total of 83.46 billion rupees in treasury bills sold this week.

The office successfully issued 6-month treasury bills at an average rate of 7.95 percent and 12-month bills at 8.19 percent.

Earlier in the week, on Tuesday, December 23, the debt office raised 82.45 billion rupees through the issuance of 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month bills.

The settlement date for these transactions was December 26. (Colombo/Dec27/2025)
