On December 30, Panasian Power successfully connected its 5MW ground-mounted solar project located in Baddegama, Galle, to the Galle Grid Substation, according to a statement released to the stock exchange. The project, operated by a subsidiary of Panasian Power, commenced revenue generation on the same day.
The commissioning of this project contributes an additional 5MWac/6.76MWp to Sri Lanka’s national grid. It marks the completion of the last of the seven 5MW ground-mounted solar power plants that the company agreed to develop under power purchase agreements with the Ceylon Electricity Board during the third quarter of 2024.
The project employs Longi Bi-facial, N type Solar PV 615 W modules with Fixed Tilt technology. This setup enhances the direct current (DC) capacity to effectively harness solar resources, ensuring an optimal AC/DC design ratio for the plant’s operations.
