DFCC Bank hosted an exclusive Pro-Am tournament on January 4, 2026, at the Royal Colombo Golf Club, marking the inaugural event of the Faldo Golf Series Powered by DFCC Bank 2026. The Pro-Am is a highlight of the tournament week, uniting established professionals, emerging junior golfers, and a select group of DFCC Bank’s Pinnacle customers and corporate partners on one course.

Designed as an invitational experience, the DFCC Pro-Am offers a unique setting where accomplished amateurs play alongside professionals and rising junior talents. Beyond the competition, the format encourages mentorship, shared learning, and an appreciation of the discipline and standards that define the sport at its highest level. For DFCC Bank, it is also a strategic way to connect its premium customer community with the next generation of Sri Lankan golfers who are stepping onto international pathways.

The Pro-Am builds on the success of its inaugural edition in 2025 and reflects DFCC Bank’s continued commitment, as the title sponsor for the second consecutive year, to supporting structured talent development through sport. It also sets the tone for the week ahead, which centers on the Faldo Junior Tournament, focusing on competitive exposure, character building, and long-term progression for young players.

Founded by Sir Nick Faldo, the Faldo Golf Series is internationally recognized as a development platform for junior golfers, combining competitive rigor with values of precision, discipline, and consistency. Its presence in Sri Lanka provides young players with an opportunity to benchmark themselves against global standards while gaining visibility beyond local circuits.

Commenting on the Pro-Am, Thimal Perera, CEO of DFCC Bank, said: “The Pro-Am represents a meaningful intersection of experience and ambition. It brings together our customers, partners, and professional golfers with young players who are working towards the highest levels of the game. Creating these moments of interaction, learning, and exposure is central to why DFCC Bank continues to support the Faldo Golf Series.”

Following the Pro-Am on January 4, the tournament week will continue with an official Practice Day on January 5, the Faldo Junior Tournament from January 6 to 8, and the Prize Giving Ceremony on January 8, all hosted at the Royal Colombo Golf Club.
