USD/LKR Spot Rate Breaks Rs. 310 Level

Today, the US dollar exceeded the Rs. 310 threshold against the Sri Lankan rupee for the first time since February 29, 2024, according to data from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL). The CBSL’s Indicative Rate for the USD/LKR Spot Exchange Rate was recorded at Rs. 310.02, indicating a significant weakening of the local currency.

Additionally, the Central Bank’s daily exchange rate table revealed that the buying rate of the US dollar was Rs. 306.28, while the selling rate reached Rs. 313.81.

The Central Bank has previously reported that the Sri Lankan rupee depreciated by 5.6 percent against the US dollar throughout 2025, highlighting ongoing pressures in the foreign exchange market.
