Associated Motorways (Private) Limited (AMW), part of the Al-Futtaim Group and the authorized distributor for Nissan and Suzuki in Sri Lanka, has achieved a significant milestone by capturing a commanding 55% market share in the country’s Class A SUV segment for 2025. This remarkable performance is primarily attributed to the success of the Nissan Magnite and Suzuki Fronx models.

In a year where the total Class A SUV sales reached 6,860 units, AMW distinguished itself by selling 3,774 units, the highest by any single distributor in this segment. The Nissan Magnite accounted for approximately 40% of the market share, while the Suzuki Fronx contributed an additional 15%, collectively setting new standards in this rapidly growing category.

The success of the Magnite and Fronx models is a testament to their alignment with Sri Lankan consumer preferences, offering a unique mix of bold design, advanced features, fuel efficiency, safety, and value. This performance is bolstered by AMW’s extensive sales and aftersales network, and the global automotive expertise, operational excellence, and governance standards provided by the Al-Futtaim Group. The sales momentum notably increased in the second half of the year, highlighting sustained demand and customer confidence in these models.

Mr. Jawahar Ganesh, Managing Director of AMW, commented on this achievement, stating: “This accomplishment is a direct result of the outstanding response to the Nissan Magnite and Suzuki Fronx in Sri Lanka. Capturing a 55% market share in the Class A SUV segment is not merely a sales achievement; it represents customer trust in our products, our people, and our commitment to a superior ownership experience. With strong support from the Al-Futtaim Group, we are dedicated to delivering world-class standards across every customer interaction. I express my gratitude to our customers for choosing AMW and applaud our teams across the island for their dedication and execution.”

AMW’s leadership in the Class A SUV segment reaffirms its status as one of Sri Lanka’s most influential automotive distributors. With over 75 years of trusted presence in the local automotive industry, AMW continues to combine globally respected brands with deep local market understanding, supported by the scale and credibility of the Al-Futtaim Group. The Nissan Magnite and Suzuki Fronx continue to set new benchmarks for performance, popularity, and value within their class.

Looking ahead, AMW is focused on enhancing its leadership through ongoing product innovation, improved customer experience, and sustainable growth, ensuring its brands remain the preferred choice for Sri Lankan SUV customers.
