Sri Lanka Welcomes Over 67,000 Tourists in the First Eight Days of 2026

The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) has reported that 67,762 tourists visited the country during the first eight days of 2026.

On January 6, the highest number of tourist arrivals was recorded, with 9,275 visitors entering Sri Lanka on that day alone.

Data from the SLTDA reveals that India was the leading source of tourists, with 11,367 visitors, accounting for 17.0% of the total arrivals. Additionally, 8,425 tourists came from Russia, 6,067 from the United Kingdom, 5,306 from Germany, and 3,285 from Australia.
