Sri Lanka Safe and Fully Open for Tourism Despite Seasonal Rains – SLTDA

Sri Lanka remains safe and fully open for travel and tourism despite seasonal rainfall affecting certain parts of the island, the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) said in a media release issued yesterday.

The SLTDA assured international visitors that all major tourist destinations continue to operate normally, with hotels, transport services and attractions functioning without disruption. Authorities are closely monitoring weather conditions and have implemented comprehensive safety measures together with tourism stakeholders and state agencies to ensure traveler safety and comfort.

Visitors are encouraged to follow official weather updates when planning their journeys. The SLTDA also noted that the Sri Lanka Tourism Hotline – 1912 – is operating 24/7 to support travelers affected by the prevailing weather, in coordination with the Tourist Police, Disaster Management Centre and other national agencies.

Reaffirming its commitment to the tourism sector, the SLTDA stated that Sri Lanka continues to warmly welcome travelers to enjoy its beaches, cultural heritage, wildlife and renowned hospitality.
