FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka next month as part of her tour of Asia, according to an IMF spokesperson.

“IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva is expected to visit Sri Lanka in February as part of a planned Asia trip, with exact dates to be announced in due course,” the spokesperson stated.

This visit is taking place amid delays in completing the fifth review of the IMF’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF) due to significant infrastructure damage in Sri Lanka. An IMF mission visited the country earlier this week to assess the impact of the disaster.
