The Mercedes-Benz Club of Sri Lanka has proudly hosted a historic gathering of 635 Mercedes-Benz vehicles, a feat officially verified and certified by BDO Partners Chartered Accountants. This achievement establishes a new world record for the largest gathering of Mercedes-Benz cars in a single location during the Mercedes-Benz Pageant 2025. This milestone carries additional significance as it coincides with Mercedes-Benz’s celebration of 140 years of innovation, dating back to the invention that laid the foundation for the modern motor car.
This accomplishment surpasses the previous Guinness World Record of 479 vehicles, set by Mercedes-Benz Ecuador in Quito, Ecuador, on October 16, 2021.
The record-breaking event, the ‘Mercedes-Benz Pageant 2025,’ organized by the Mercedes-Benz Club of Sri Lanka, took place on February 8, 2026, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The event was initially postponed due to natural disasters that affected the country late last year. DIMO, the only authorized general distributor for Mercedes-Benz vehicles in Sri Lanka, powered this landmark celebration. This continues DIMO’s tradition of supporting the pageant in all its editions, highlighting its unwavering commitment to the brand and its dedicated owner community.
Mercedes-Benz owners from across Sri Lanka came together to celebrate the brand’s legacy, engineering excellence, and the strong camaraderie within the Sri Lankan Mercedes-Benz community. The Mercedes-Benz Pageant 2025 marked the 35th anniversary of the Mercedes-Benz Club, where heritage met innovation, showcasing an impressive array of Classic, Young-Classic, and the latest Mercedes-Benz models under one roof.
“We are immensely proud of this momentous accomplishment. This event reflects the passion, dedication, and unity of our members and the broader Mercedes-Benz family in Sri Lanka. The certification by BDO Partners Chartered Accountants underscores the credibility and precision with which the event was organized and conducted,” stated Asgi Akbarally, President of the Mercedes-Benz Club of Sri Lanka.
He added, “The club extends its heartfelt appreciation to all participants, partners, DIMO, and volunteers whose contributions made this extraordinary milestone possible.”
“With over 85 years of automotive excellence and as the exclusive Mercedes-Benz partner in Sri Lanka, DIMO is proud to support this historic milestone,” said Rajeev Pandithage, Executive Director of DIMO. “Built on 140 years of pioneering innovation, Mercedes-Benz continues to command an unmatched legacy and owner loyalty. This remarkable gathering reflects the strength of that community and the enduring appreciation for automotive excellence in Sri Lanka.”
