Associated Motorways (Private) Limited (AMW), the exclusive authorized distributor for Nissan in Sri Lanka, has officially launched the all-new Nissan Almera at a special event held at the Nissan Showroom in Union Place, Colombo. The gathering attracted a diverse group of stakeholders, including valued customers, AMW’s senior management team, Nissan representatives, and members of the media, underscoring significant market interest and confidence in the new model.

The Nissan Almera is designed to meet the evolving expectations of modern motorists, entering the local market as a smart, contemporary sedan that seamlessly integrates Nissan Intelligent Mobility features with premium comfort, advanced safety, and impressive fuel efficiency. Offered by AMW in VE Turbo CVT and VL Turbo CVT grades, the Almera aims to attract young urban professionals, executives, and families seeking a practical yet sophisticated vehicle that delivers long-term value.

Nissan’s distinctive HRA0 1.0-litre turbo engine offers drivers responsiveness, power, and confidence during overtaking. The engine generates a maximum power of 100 horsepower (Ps) and torque of 152 Nm, ensuring strong and swift acceleration. The engine also features an Idling Stop function that automatically turns off the engine to conserve fuel. Since its introduction, the Nissan Almera has been praised for delivering all essential features “at the speed you want.”

To further enhance the customer experience, Nissan has incorporated premium Quole Modure seats in the VE Turbo CVT and VL Turbo CVT grades. This innovative seat material effectively reflects heat, reducing heat buildup and ensuring increased comfort for drivers and passengers, even on long journeys. Additionally, both grades include an Intelligent Key with auto lock and unlock functionality, improving daily convenience and safety.

The Nissan Almera is equipped with various comfort features tailored for modern lifestyles. These include a spacious passenger cabin with ample front and rear legroom, a well-balanced cabin and trunk layout, cruise control, a wireless charger, and an upgraded infotainment system featuring an 8-inch touchscreen display. Smartphone connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay further enhances usability and in-car entertainment.

Externally, the Almera boasts Nissan’s bold design language, featuring an enhanced V-Motion grille, the new Nissan brand logo, and sculpted body lines that emphasize forward motion and modernity. Inside, sporty blue gliding wing-shaped console accents and stylish bluish door panel trims create a refined yet dynamic cabin ambiance. The vehicle also incorporates Nissan’s renowned Zero Gravity front seats, designed with a 14-point support structure to reduce fatigue and encourage a natural seating posture during long drives.

Safety is a fundamental aspect of the Nissan Almera, equipped with class-leading features such as a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, High Beam Assist, and Lane Departure Warning. Nissan’s 360-degree Safety Shield further enhances protection with technologies like Intelligent Around View Monitor, Moving Object Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Warning, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, and Hill Start Assist. Comprehensive protection is ensured through six SRS airbags across all grades, along with ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, Vehicle Dynamic Control, and pretensioner and load limiter seatbelts.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Jawahar Ganesh, Group Managing Director of AMW, stated, “The all-new Nissan Almera has been thoughtfully engineered to deliver what today’s Sri Lankan customer truly values—efficiency, safety, comfort, and intelligent design. Supported by Nissan’s global expertise and the leadership of the Al-Futtaim Group, AMW continues to provide world-class, market-relevant mobility solutions to Sri Lanka.”

Mr. Atul Aggarwal, Director of Aftersales and South Asia Business Unit, Nissan Motor Corporation, added, “Customers purchasing the Nissan Almera through our authorized distributor in Sri Lanka—Associated Motorways (Private) Limited—benefit from the Nissan Peace of Mind, a comprehensive ownership proposition that includes Nissan Promise of a three-year or 100,000-kilometre OEM warranty, Nissan genuine parts, and after-sales support from Nissan-trained technicians across AMW’s nationwide service network. We are confident that the new Nissan Almera will resonate with our valued customers in Sri Lanka as effectively as our Nissan Magnite.”

In addition, customer-centric financing options are available through AMW Capital Leasing and Finance, offering flexible solutions tailored to individual needs.

The Nissan Almera is available in a wide selection of monotone and two-tone color options depending on the grade, with vehicle stocks now available for immediate purchase. Customers are encouraged to visit their nearest Nissan showroom to experience the all-new Almera and discover a smarter, more refined sedan designed for modern Sri Lankan lifestyles.
