Sri Lanka and EU Joint Commission Set to Enhance Cooperative Efforts

Sri Lanka and the European Union (EU) are set to convene the 27th Session of the EU-Sri Lanka Joint Commission in Colombo this week, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This meeting aims to bring together senior officials from both entities to review and enhance their partnership across various domains, including governance, human rights, trade, development cooperation, and other bilateral and regional priorities.

The joint commission will be co-chaired by Aruni Ranaraja, Secretary of the Ministry, and Paola Pampaloni, Acting Managing Director for Asia and the Pacific of the European External Action Service (EEAS). In addition to the main session, the visiting EU delegation will engage with senior officials to discuss collaborative approaches and determine the next steps to reinforce the ongoing partnership.
