Hayleys Fabric in Sri Lanka Reports 95% Profit Decline in December 2025 Quarter

FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – Sri Lanka’s Hayleys Fabric Plc experienced a significant decline in profits, dropping 95 percent to 11.1 million rupees in the December 2025 quarter, as revealed in its interim financial report. This decline is attributed to reduced revenue and increased administrative costs.

In comparison, the company reported a profit of 235 million rupees in the same quarter of the previous year. Revenue decreased by 6 percent year-on-year to 8.4 billion rupees, while the cost of sales fell at a slower rate of 4 percent to 7.35 billion rupees.

Administrative expenses surged by 28 percent to 975 million rupees, up from 760 million rupees a year earlier. Consequently, earnings per share also dropped significantly to 0.03 rupees in the December quarter, down from 0.57 rupees in the previous year.

During the nine months ending December 2025, Hayleys Fabric, a manufacturer of export cloths, reported a 68 percent decline in profits, totaling 543 million rupees. Revenue for the nine-month period decreased by 18 percent to 28.5 billion rupees.

The company’s stock closed 2.8 percent lower at 38.70 rupees on Wednesday. (Colombo, February 11, 2026)
