Unveiled this week in Colombo 7, ‘Wild Mist Water’ is described by its creator, Sohan Jayasena, as “a luxury wellness experience inspired by Sri Lanka’s botanical heritage.”
This innovative product is initially available in four variants, each presented in canisters. Like traditional tea, the contents of these canisters are designed to be brewed. Each variant contains a carefully curated mix of local spices long associated with physical and mental wellbeing.
The blends draw exclusively from Sri Lanka’s botanical repertoire, featuring coriander seeds, nigella, cloves, cinnamon, rosemary, and lemongrass. These ingredients create a subtle infusion that aims to provide a calming aroma, smooth mouthfeel, and grounding experience, offering a moment of calm in today’s fast-paced world.
The brand’s core philosophy, as emphasized by its founder, is that Sri Lanka’s wellness heritage remains relevant to modern life through thoughtful reinterpretation rather than exaggeration or nostalgia.
“Wild Mist Water is not about chasing trends or making claims,” states Sohan Jayasena, who is also a marketer and brand strategist. “It is about taking something deeply familiar to Sri Lankan life—the practice of brewing and drinking warm botanicals—and presenting it with discipline, clarity, and respect. My aim was to create a product that encourages people to slow down, even briefly, and treat their wellbeing as something worthy of time and intention.”
Additionally, Wild Mist Water is marketed as the “new language of gifting,” targeting individuals who wish to move beyond predictable choices and be intentional about their gifts and how they are perceived.
Developed, distributed, and marketed by Mild Earth, the holding company aims to propel Sri Lankan wellness onto the global stage. Positioned within the luxury wellness category, Wild Mist Water is intended to be a conscious part of one’s daily routine. It is not a medicinal remedy, sugary refreshment, or mass-market drink, but rather a well-considered wellness experience grounded in restraint and credibility.
Currently, Wild Mist Water is crafted to be enjoyed warm, reflecting the comforting Sri Lankan tradition of consuming warm, brewed herbal infusions.
The product’s premium positioning is expected to attract those who appreciate minimalism, discipline, and intentional living, and regard wellbeing as a non-negotiable lifestyle choice. Production occurs at a globally certified, export-grade food manufacturing facility in Sri Lanka, with a strong focus on quality-first sourcing and disciplined processes.
Wild Mist Water will primarily be sold through its premium e-commerce site, Mildearth.com, offering free climate-conscious shipping for customers in Colombo. It will also be available at selected upmarket boutique hotels, resorts, cafes, wellness boutiques, and concept stores.
While the initial focus is on establishing the brand locally through selective distribution, plans are already underway for export to Australia, Malaysia, and Singapore—markets that align with Wild Mist Water’s emphasis on intentional living, sensory refinement, and quiet luxury.
Originating from Sri Lanka, formerly known as Ceylon, Wild Mist Water embodies a modern take on an ancient sensibility—a quiet, confident step towards reintroducing the island’s botanical heritage to a global audience, one mindful cup at a time.
