Sri Lanka Secures Additional Rs9 Billion in Treasury Bills Post-Auction

FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – Sri Lanka’s public debt management office successfully sold 9,000 million rupees worth of treasury bills through a tap issue, with average yields of 7.72 percent, 8.07 percent, and 8.31 percent. This sale brings the total treasury bills sold this week to 99 billion rupees.

The breakdown of the sales includes 3-month bills at an average rate of 7.72 percent, 6-month bills at 8.07 percent, and 12-month bills at 8.31 percent. The total subscription from the market amounted to 32,452 rupees.

Earlier in the week, on Wednesday, the debt office raised 90 billion rupees through the issuance of 3, 6, and 12-month bills. The settlement date for these transactions is set for February 13.
