IMF Chief Kristalina Georgieva Embarks on Strategic Three-Day Visit to Sri Lanka

Kristalina Georgieva, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka from February 16 to 18, 2026, as confirmed by a senior official from the IMF.

During her three-day visit, Georgieva will engage with government officials and key stakeholders to discuss the ongoing recovery efforts following Cyclone Ditwah. She will also assess the cyclone’s impact firsthand and explore ways in which the IMF can aid in rebuilding efforts, aiming to foster a more resilient future for all Sri Lankans.
