Sri Lanka’s Aitken Spence Plc, a diversified conglomerate with interests spanning tourism, cargo handling, and property development, has reported a significant increase in profit for the December 2025 quarter. According to interim financial accounts filed with the Colombo Stock Exchange, the company’s profit rose by 37.1 percent, reaching 2.06 billion rupees compared to 1.5 billion rupees in the same quarter of the previous year.

Additionally, the net finance cost decreased to 1.07 billion rupees from 1.4 billion rupees a year earlier.

Aitken Spence reported earnings of 5.07 rupees per share for the quarter, and for the nine months ending in December, the conglomerate achieved earnings of 7.37 rupees per share.

In the December quarter, the company’s revenues experienced a modest increase of 3.8 percent, totaling 25.92 billion rupees. Furthermore, profit from operations rose by 11.1 percent, reaching 4.44 billion rupees, up from 4 billion rupees in the December 2024 quarter.
