FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – The Colombo Stock Exchange in Sri Lanka experienced a decline after opening near the 24,000 mark, according to data from the CSE. The All Share Price Index decreased by 0.04 percent, losing 10.35 points to settle at 23,889.76. Similarly, the S&P SL20 index fell by 0.04 percent, dropping 2.81 points to 6,713.14. The turnover for the day was recorded at 1.4 billion rupees.
Lanka Milk Foods emerged as the top contributor to the ASPI, with a share price of Rs.87.20. Conversely, Pan Asia Banking Corporation was the leading negative contributor, with its share price at Rs.59.90. In its financial quarterly report for December 2025, Pan Asia Banking Corporation PLC announced a profit of 981 million rupees, marking a 49 percent decrease from December 2024. The bank also declared a first and final cash dividend of Rs. 1 per share.
In a contrasting report, Lakehouse Printers and Publishers recorded a significant loss of 842 million rupees, a stark difference from the 3.8 million rupees profit achieved in December 2024. (Colombo/Feb17/2026)
