FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – LAUGFS Gas PLC has announced that measures are being implemented to restore the availability and normal distribution of LPG within the upcoming days. This update was shared through a filing with the stock exchange.
The company explained that the current supply constraints emerged during the transition from a previous international supplier to a newly onboarded one. “During this interim period, scheduling adjustments in cargo arrivals affected distribution timelines,” the statement noted.
LAUGFS Gas clarified that its primary large-scale operations are located at the Hambantota Terminal. “Due to prevailing regulatory conditions, the facility could not be fully utilized for domestic market operations,” the company stated. They further mentioned that government authorities are offering support to facilitate the release and operationalization of the terminal to enhance national LPG supply stability.
According to LAUGFS Gas, “Cargo shipments under the new supply arrangement have been secured, and distribution normalization is currently underway. Our operational teams are working diligently to accelerate deliveries and restore full market supply at the earliest.”
