Emirates, the world’s largest international and most profitable airline, is set to host a roadshow in Colombo on March 10, 2026, as part of its global effort to recruit top-tier aircraft technical talent. The event is targeted at skilled and aspiring Workshop Technicians interested in joining the airline’s engineering team at its Dubai hub.

This roadshow is a key component of the Emirates Group’s worldwide recruitment campaign aimed at hiring 17,300 professionals across 350 roles within the current financial year. The initiative highlights the Group’s strategic aim to bolster its technical capabilities and enhance maintenance standards across its international fleet.

Both experienced and aspiring Workshop Technicians are encouraged to attend the Colombo session, where Emirates’ recruiters will provide detailed information on the role, remuneration, benefits, and life in Dubai. Attendees will have the chance to interact directly with the airline’s engineers and managers, gaining practical insights into working life, career advancement, and professional development within Emirates. Our US$950 million investment in a state-of-the-art engineering complex at Dubai World Central reflects the scale of our ambition. This next-generation facility, set to be among the largest and most sophisticated in commercial aviation, will provide the full spectrum of specialized aircraft engineering services. It will give our technical professionals an exceptional platform to deepen their expertise, embrace innovation, and support Emirates’ expanding global operations with the highest standards of safety and performance.”

Emirates Engineering

Engineering the Future

Construction on Phase 1 of Emirates’ engineering facility at Dubai World Central began in 2024 and is expected to be completed by 2027. Spanning over 1 million square meters, this facility is purpose-built to support Emirates’ aircraft fleet and operational requirements into the 2040s. It will also be a center of excellence for commercial aviation engineering services in the Middle East, with spare capacity potentially offered to other airline operators. Emirates engineers will be at the forefront of this groundbreaking facility, leading routine aircraft checks, bespoke paint jobs, light to heavy maintenance programs, engine repair and testing, and full cabin interior fitouts and aircraft conversions.
