The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism of Sri Lanka is closely monitoring the unfolding security situation in the Middle East. Ensuring the safety and well-being of approximately one million Sri Lankan nationals residing and working in the region remains the government’s top priority.
In response to the current regional instability, Sri Lankan citizens in the Middle East are strongly advised to exercise increased vigilance. It is recommended that they:
- Monitor reliable local media and official announcements from the host country.
- Avoid non-essential travel and large public gatherings.
- Maintain regular contact with the nearest Sri Lankan Diplomatic Mission.
- Keep mobile phones charged and carry valid identification documents at all times.
