Alliance Finance in Sri Lanka Halts Debenture Offering

Sri Lanka’s Alliance Finance Company has announced the cancellation of its planned debenture issuance, citing difficult market conditions as the primary reason for this decision. In a statement made to the stock exchange, the company indicated that it will no longer proceed with the issuance of tier 2 listed, rated, unsecured subordinated redeemable bonds, which were intended to have a five-year duration from 2026 to 2031.

The company also mentioned that it is actively seeking alternative avenues to access the debt capital market and will consider launching a debenture issue in the future when the market environment is more favorable.

At midday on Monday, the company’s stock was noted to be trading at 348 rupees, reflecting an increase of 18 rupees. (Colombo/Jun15/2026)
