FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – Asia Asset Finance, based in Sri Lanka, is set to generate 1.5 billion rupees through a rights issue that will offer four new ordinary voting shares for every eleven shares currently held. This information was disclosed by the company in a recent market announcement.
A total of 45,162,012 ordinary voting shares will be issued at a price of Rs.33.30 per share. The initiative is projected to raise approximately 1,503,894,999.60 rupees.
The primary objective of this capital increase is to enhance the company’s Tier 1 Capital to comply with the regulatory requirements set by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL). This will allow the company to scale its operations based on anticipated fund utilization over the forthcoming two months, according to the company’s statement.
Currently, the stated capital of Asia Asset Finance stands at Rs.2,205,463,801.00. During Thursday’s intra-day trading, the company’s shares were observed to have increased by 4.09 percent, reaching a price of Rs.56.00. (Colombo/Jun11/2026)
