Atlas introduces Sri Lanka’s inaugural SLS-certified water bottle, underscoring its dedication to children’s safety.

Atlas, a prominent educational brand in Sri Lanka, has been a trusted resource for parents for many years, facilitating children’s growth through enjoyable learning experiences. Having been a part of Sri Lankan childhoods for generations, Atlas emphasizes the creation of products that foster creativity, ignite curiosity, and ensure that learning remains a positive journey for young minds. Continuing its legacy, the brand has launched Sri Lanka’s inaugural SLS-certified water bottle, reinforcing its dedication not just to education but also by providing parents with a reliable and certified option for a vital daily item.

This launch occurs amidst increasing concerns regarding product safety, quality control, and consumer rights. The process of achieving SLS certification is thorough, involving comprehensive testing and stringent adherence to the newly established national standards for plastic water bottles by the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI). This certification provides parents with the assurance that the Atlas water bottle complies with acknowledged safety and quality guidelines, underscoring the brand’s ongoing commitment to maintaining high standards in safety, quality, and dependability across its product range.

The formal unveiling took place at Cinnamon Grand Colombo, where representatives from regulatory bodies, healthcare professionals, industry specialists, media, and the Atlas leadership convened to deliberate on the increasing significance of certified products, acknowledged quality benchmarks, and the necessity for informed consumer choices.

During the event, Indrajith Binduhewa, Director of Sales & Operations at Atlas Axillia, stated, “At Atlas, our guiding principle is simple: Is it beneficial for the child? As a brand that has gained the trust of Sri Lankan families for generations, we believe that safety should never be compromised. Being the first brand in Sri Lanka to secure SLS certification for a water bottle exemplifies our dedication to elevating standards while instilling greater confidence in parents regarding the products their children utilize daily. We take pride in contributing to a safer future for children.”

The event also included a panel discussion featuring experts from various key stakeholder groups, focusing on the critical roles of quality standards, certification, and consumer awareness in enhancing product safety and safeguarding families and children.

Kasuni Bandara, General Manager of Marketing at Atlas Axillia, added, “For generations, parents have relied on Atlas to be part of their children’s upbringing. This launch signifies our commitment to honoring that trust by providing a safer, certified option for one of the essential products used every day. We aspire for this milestone to foster greater awareness of certified products, enabling parents to make informed choices confidently.”

With the release of Sri Lanka’s first SLS-certified water bottle, Atlas continues to advocate for elevated product standards while supporting national initiatives aimed at promoting safer, quality-assured products for families, reaffirming its dedication to prioritizing children’s well-being in all its endeavors.
