Sri Lanka’s largest and most preferred café chain, Barista Sri Lanka, has once again demonstrated its dedication to community upliftment with the successful conclusion of its annual “Share a Meal” campaign. Conducted for the sixth consecutive year in partnership with SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka, this initiative continues to make a significant impact.

“At Barista Sri Lanka, our purpose extends beyond our cafés to the communities we serve,” remarked Dilupa Pathirana, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Barista Sri Lanka. “Through initiatives like Share a Meal, we transform everyday customer engagement into meaningful social impact, reinforcing our commitment to responsible growth and long-term community upliftment.”

The December 2025 initiative, fueled by the generosity of customers and well-wishers across the island, successfully raised an impressive Rs. 6.78 million. This funding facilitated the provision of 67,830 meals to nearly 800 children across six SOS Children’s Villages in Sri Lanka.

As part of the campaign’s extension, Team Barista recently visited SOS Children’s Village Sri Lanka. During this visit, they spent meaningful time with the children and officially handed over the funds collected during the month-long initiative. The event was graced by SOS Brand Ambassador and renowned performer Umaria Singhawansa, along with representatives from Barista Coffee Lanka and SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka.

Discussing the broader impact of the initiative, Divakar Ratnadurai, National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka, emphasized that the contribution would extend beyond meals. Support will also be directed towards education initiatives, helping ensure long-term development and brighter futures for the children.

The Share a Meal campaign exemplifies Barista Sri Lanka’s enduring partnership with SOS Children’s Villages, a globally recognized organization dedicated to providing loving homes, education, and long-term care for children who have lost parental care or are at risk of losing it. In Sri Lanka, SOS Children’s Villages supports nearly 800 children, nurturing them with stability, dignity, and hope for the future.

With growing support year after year, the campaign has enabled Barista Sri Lanka and SOS Children’s Villages to deepen their collective impact, reinforcing a shared vision of building stronger, more compassionate communities.

Barista Sri Lanka extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed, standing together in the true spirit of giving and compassion.
