Blue-Chip Index Leads Market Higher in Ninth Straight Gain

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) experienced a significant rise in its market indices today, marking the ninth consecutive session of upward momentum. The All Share Price Index (ASPI) saw a substantial increase of 278.16 points, equating to a 1.21% rise from the previous trading session. Consequently, the ASPI concluded the day at 23,292.91 points.

A notable feature of today’s trading was the robust performance of the S&P SL20 Index, which climbed by 2.19%. The index advanced by 136.41 points, closing at 6,363.85 points by the end of trading.

Market turnover for the day reached Rs. 6.59 billion, reflecting sustained investor engagement in the local equity market.
