Trading at the Colombo Stock Exchange concluded positively on Wednesday, October 18, with both major indices closing higher and the S&P SL20 reaching an unprecedented milestone.
The All Share Price Index (ASPI) rose by 37.02 points, closing at 23,919.84. Meanwhile, the S&P SL20 index increased by 41.79 points to settle at 6,750.50, marking the first time in history that the index has surpassed the 6,750 level.
Market turnover for the session amounted to Rs. 5.66 billion. Domestic purchases totaled Rs. 5.55 billion, while domestic sales were Rs. 5.37 billion. Foreign purchases were recorded at Rs. 109 million, compared to foreign sales of Rs. 292 million, resulting in a net foreign outflow for the day.
