In response to the increasing demand for New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in Sri Lanka, BYD, in collaboration with its authorized distributor John Keells CG Auto, has inaugurated the country’s largest purpose-built body shop and accident repair center dedicated solely to BYD and its premium sub-brand, DENZA.

Situated in Seeduwa, this new facility has taken over the former Formula World site, marking a significant milestone in BYD and DENZA’s ongoing efforts to enhance their after-sales infrastructure. With the capacity to accommodate over 100 vehicles simultaneously, the Seeduwa Body Shop significantly boosts repair capacity and alleviates congestion at existing service points across the Western Province.

The facility is strategically designed to serve as a dedicated, high-throughput solution for collision repairs and intricate bodywork. This setup ensures that BYD and DENZA customers have access to specialized accident repair services with quicker turnaround times. This expansion caters to the growing demand for efficient body shop services as BYD’s vehicle presence rapidly grows across Sri Lanka.

“Our Seeduwa Body Shop represents a major step forward in our after-sales expansion,” stated Charith Panditharatne, Chief Executive Officer of John Keells CG Auto. “With these investments, we aim to significantly expand service capacity, improve service consistency, and ensure JKCG customers receive seamless support with faster turnaround times for accident repairs and bodywork.”

The opening of the Seeduwa facility underscores BYD’s deliberate effort to better address customer needs and align service standards with the brand’s expanding market presence. As the largest dedicated body shop for BYD vehicles in Colombo, it enhances the overall ownership experience and reinforces the brand’s commitment to long-term customer satisfaction.

The inauguration of the Seeduwa Body Shop is part of BYD’s broader after-sales expansion strategy, which also includes the recent launch of its largest service center in Wattala, designed to support the full range of BYD and DENZA passenger vehicles.
