In the first half of 2026, Ceylinco Life experienced a remarkable asset increase of Rs. 15.65 billion, reflecting a growth rate of 5.45%, with an average monthly increase of Rs. 2.58 billion.
Notably, the company reported a Risk-Based Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) of 406% as of June 30, 2026, significantly surpassing the minimum regulatory requirement of 120% established by the industry regulator. This robust capital position underscores Ceylinco Life’s effective risk management strategies and solid financial governance, demonstrating its dedication to protecting the interests of policyholders and other stakeholders while showcasing its ability to navigate macroeconomic challenges.
In response to this accomplishment, Ceylinco Life Chairman Mr. R. Renganathan stated, “Surpassing the Rs. 300 billion asset milestone is a strong testament to the resilience, stability, and disciplined growth of Ceylinco Life. Our impressive capital adequacy ratio, which far exceeds regulatory standards, underscores our careful approach to risk management and our steadfast commitment to safeguarding policyholder interests. This robust financial foundation equips us to face economic uncertainties confidently while continuing to provide long-term value to all stakeholders.”
The growth of Ceylinco Life’s asset base is largely attributed to its financial investments, including an expanding real estate portfolio, which bolsters the quality and stability of its balance sheet. The company is strategically investing in land acquisition for its branch network, facilitating the development of environmentally friendly green buildings and simultaneously strengthening its asset portfolio. Construction is currently in progress for the company’s 36th branch building, situated on property owned by Ceylinco Life.
Ceylinco Life’s ongoing growth is built on a solid performance trajectory established in 2025, during which the company achieved its 22nd consecutive year of leadership in Sri Lanka’s life insurance sector, recording gross written premium income of Rs. 44.18 billion. Additionally, the company reported total income of Rs. 72.43 billion and increased its total assets by 14.15% to Rs. 287 billion by the end of that year, with its Life Fund exceeding Rs. 200 billion.
With its expanding asset base, disciplined investment strategy, and consistently strong capital position, Ceylinco Life continues to solidify its reputation as Sri Lanka’s most financially stable and trusted life insurer.
Recognized as the ‘People’s Life Insurance Service Provider of the Year’ for an unprecedented 20th consecutive year at the 2026 SLIM Kantar Peoples Awards, Ceylinco Life has also been acknowledged as the Best Life Insurer in Sri Lanka for 12 consecutive years by World Finance, and was ranked as the most valuable insurance brand in Sri Lanka in both 2025 and 2026.
