Ceylinco Life, a leader in the life insurance market, has expanded its presence in Sri Lanka’s deep south by inaugurating a new eco-friendly branch in Ambalantota. This development marks a significant milestone as it becomes the first life insurer in the area to operate from a company-owned building.

Situated at No. 207G, Tangalle Road, Ambalantota, the two-story facility is the 35th company-owned branch of Ceylinco Life. Purposefully designed to enhance customer comfort while reducing environmental impact, the new branch underscores Ceylinco Life’s dedication to sustainable infrastructure, according to the company.

This state-of-the-art building spans a gross floor area of 3,200 square feet, offers parking for 10 vehicles, and was completed in 11 months. Constructed using precast concrete technology from the National Engineering Research and Development Centre, the building provides notable benefits, such as a 10 to 15 percent cost reduction, a 20 percent decrease in construction time, enhanced thermal comfort, and lower long-term maintenance costs.

Adhering to Ceylinco Life’s green building principles, the Ambalantota branch operates on a 15 kW off-grid solar power system, ensuring zero electricity costs and eliminating the need for a diesel generator. The building features a rainwater harvesting system and a wastewater recycling system, supplying treated water for toilet flushing and gardening, while significantly reducing the use of pipe-borne water.

Further energy efficiency is achieved through the use of energy-efficient air conditioning and lighting systems, optimal use of daylight, natural ventilation, and minimal timber usage in construction. Existing trees have been preserved, and additional planting has been undertaken to enhance the natural surroundings.

Beyond its environmental initiatives, the new Ambalantota branch highlights Ceylinco Life’s strategy of investing in company-owned, purpose-built premises that offer an exceptional customer experience in inviting and sustainable settings, reinforcing the insurer’s presence in key regional centers across the country.

Ceylinco Life has maintained its position as the market leader in Sri Lanka’s life insurance sector for 21 consecutive years, offering innovative insurance solutions that safeguard and support the aspirations of policyholders. In 2025, the company was recognized as the most valuable insurance brand in Sri Lanka and ranked as the 22nd most valuable brand overall by Brand Finance. It was also voted the People’s Life Insurance Service Provider of the Year for the 19th consecutive year in 2025, affirming its status as a trusted brand by millions. Additionally, the company has been named Sri Lanka’s Brand of the Year twice in the past five years and has been acknowledged among the 10 Most Admired Companies in Sri Lanka by the International Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka (ICCSL) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
