The Commercial Documents Registration Division (CDRD) of The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has enhanced its export assistance offerings by launching a Free Sale Letter specifically for the pharmaceutical sector. This new certification service aims to aid Sri Lankan pharmaceutical manufacturers and exporters in streamlining their export procedures and meeting compliance standards in global markets.
This initiative broadens the range of services provided by CDRD, which already includes Certificates of Origin and the certification of essential commercial documents required by foreign buyers, customs agencies, and regulatory authorities. These services play a crucial role in helping exporters across various industries ensure that their documentation aligns with international trade regulations.
Founded in 1925, CDRD has been an authorized body for issuing Certificates of Origin in Sri Lanka for nearly a century, actively contributing to the country’s international trade. Currently, the Division offers certification and verification services to exporters, manufacturers, freight forwarders, logistics companies, and other trade participants, assisting them in fulfilling documentation requirements for global markets.
Beyond the new pharmaceutical certification, CDRD also provides certification for a variety of export-related documents, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Price Lists, Health Certificates, Phytosanitary Certificates, Certificates of Analysis, Bills of Lading, Survey Reports, and Beneficiary Certificates. Additionally, the Division issues Free Sale Letters and Surveyor Appointment Letters, and collaborates with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate the Electronic Document Attestation System (e-DAS) for secure and efficient document verification.
With established protocols, innovative digital solutions, and its online service platform, CDRD is committed to improving the efficiency and accessibility of trade documentation services. Available around the clock throughout the year, the platform allows exporters to conveniently submit and manage their documentation needs while ensuring that the certified documents adhere to internationally recognized standards.
