Colombo Stock Exchange Sees Lowest Turnover in 15 Months, Reaching Rs. 722 Million

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) experienced a quiet trading session on Friday, the 17th, with daily turnover reaching its lowest point in 15 months.

The total turnover for the day was recorded at Rs. 722 million, which is the lowest since April 17, 2025, when it was Rs. 792 million.

Additionally, this session marked a significant milestone, as it was the first instance since April 22, 2025, where daily turnover fell below the Rs. 1 billion threshold. On that date, the CSE turnover was noted at Rs. 990 million.

In terms of market performance, both primary indices ended the day in the red. The All Share Price Index (ASPI) dropped by 42.16 points, concluding at 21,405.41, while the S&P SL20 Index decreased by 5.31 points to finish at 5,999.68.
