ComBank Elevates ‘Max Loyalty Rewards’ by Introducing Airline Miles Feature

Commercial Bank of Ceylon has made a significant update to its Max Loyalty Rewards program, enabling cardholders to convert their reward points into frequent flyer miles. This enhancement is part of a strategic collaboration with SriLankan Airlines’ ‘FlySmiLes’ program and other airline loyalty schemes, aimed at enriching the travel experience for customers.

Starting immediately, holders of Premium and Platinum credit cards, as well as Elite debit cards issued by Commercial Bank, can transform their Max Loyalty Rewards Points into FlySmiLes miles. This conversion allows for quicker access to flights and travel benefits with SriLankan Airlines, catering to the bank’s customer base.

This upgrade also includes partnerships with various international frequent flyer programs, significantly expanding travel options for eligible cardholders by connecting them to a wider network of airlines, according to the bank’s announcement.

This initiative is designed to enhance the practicality of everyday spending on credit and debit cards, allowing routine purchases to earn valuable travel rewards. The collaboration with SriLankan Airlines is particularly strategic, as it provides a familiar and valuable option for customers looking to convert points into miles.

To celebrate this launch, Commercial Bank is promoting an attractive conversion rate, where six Max Loyalty Rewards Points will equal one FlySmiLes mile, a rate that will be available until December 31, 2026. This competitive offer aims to accelerate the transition from everyday spending to international travel, thereby increasing the attractiveness of the bank’s card offerings.

Mr. Hasrath Munasinghe, the Chief Operating Officer of Commercial Bank, commented that this enhancement underscores the bank’s dedication to providing unique value to its customers. He emphasized that Max Loyalty Rewards points represent a significant advantage for cardholders, allowing them to convert everyday expenditures into rewarding travel experiences. He also noted that Commercial Bank is the first to extend Max Loyalty Rewards to both credit and debit cardholders, enhancing the benefits across its entire card portfolio. By partnering with SriLankan Airlines and other global airlines, the bank has bolstered the Max Loyalty Rewards program, enabling customers to turn their everyday spending into memorable travel opportunities.

The conversion feature for airline miles comes at no extra cost for eligible cardholders, with no fees for enrollment or processing. The service is fully integrated into the existing Max Loyalty Rewards platform, allowing users to log in with their credentials to check balances and convert points seamlessly alongside regular merchant redemptions.

This enhancement further solidifies Commercial Bank’s reputation as a leader in customer-focused banking and value creation for cardholders, merging everyday financial transactions with improved lifestyle and travel perks. By enhancing the functionality of Max Loyalty Rewards through digital accessibility, inclusivity for debit and credit cardholders, and a strategic alliance with the national airline, the bank continues to showcase its commitment to providing meaningful and convenient solutions for its customers.

Commercial Bank’s credit and debit cards also support numerous year-round promotions throughout Sri Lanka, giving cardholders regular chances to access exclusive discounts and benefits across various sectors such as retail, dining, lifestyle, and travel. The bank remains focused on strengthening merchant collaborations and broadening the reach of its promotional offerings, ensuring that customers receive substantial value and rewarding experiences consistently.
