Commercial Credit’s shares fluctuate between Rs100.50 and Rs113 during a significant block trade of 95 million units.

FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – The shares of Commercial Credit and Finance, owned by Group Lease Holdings, a Singapore-based firm currently undergoing liquidation, have been sold at prices ranging from 100.50 to 113 rupees each, as reported in a market announcement.

This transaction involved the sale of 95,390,500 shares, which represented the entire ownership stake of the Singaporean entity, accounting for 29.99 percent of Commercial Credit and Finance.

Valued at over 9 billion rupees, this sale marks the largest individual transaction recorded on the Colombo Stock Exchange for the year 2026.

A consortium of investors, including Raynor Silva and Aravinda de Silva, acquired the shares, according to brokerage sources.

At the close of trading, the stock was valued at 109.25 rupees, reflecting an increase of 1.63 percent. (Colombo/August 07/2026)
