In a groundbreaking effort to enhance Sri Lanka’s construction services presence in the Indian market, a sector-specific business delegation visited Mumbai from November 25th to 28th, 2025. This initiative was spearheaded by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) in partnership with the Sri Lanka Consulate General in Mumbai.

Ten prominent Sri Lankan companies from various sectors, including civil construction, engineering services, interior design, consultancy, and property development, participated in the program. These companies included Synex Holdings (Pvt.) Ltd, Rhino Roofing Products Ltd, St. Anthony’s Interior Solutions (Pvt.) Ltd, SBA Consultant (Pvt.) Ltd, Colombo Consultants and Management Group, BMIS Company, Amoda Rathnayake Associates (Pvt.) Ltd, MOVA (Pvt.) Ltd, Good Gift Property Developers (Pvt.) Ltd, and K.R.S. Sankarans Engineers & Construction.

The visit commenced with a B2B networking session at the Sri Lanka Consulate General in Mumbai, attracting approximately 100 Indian companies. The delegation engaged in a series of high-level business meetings and networking sessions with notable Indian industry institutions such as the India Chamber of International Business (ICIB), India Merchants’ Chamber (IMC), World Trade Center (WTC), Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (MACCIA), Somaiya University, Godrej Enterprises Group, and Studio SSJ. They also attended Design Mumbai, an international contemporary design show, and the IGBC Green Building Congress & Exhibition 2025.

Over 350 engagements during the visit provided a platform to explore new business partnerships, joint ventures, subcontracting opportunities, and access to green technologies and advanced design solutions. These interactions are expected to enhance bilateral cooperation in the construction services sector. All participating companies have already secured business collaborations with Indian partners. In response to their success, the EDB plans to organize more structured business matchmaking sessions and promotional events to connect Sri Lankan service sector companies with global markets, including various regions of India and other potential markets.
