The David Pieris Group is set to unveil its Social Empowerment Drive in Batticaloa, a significant five-day community outreach program scheduled from July 15 to July 19, 2026. This initiative underscores the organization’s enduring dedication to fostering community growth and promoting social inclusivity.
The events will primarily take place at the David Pieris Motor Company (DPMC) facility located on Trincomalee Road, with additional activities arranged at various sites throughout the city.
This comprehensive initiative aims to empower the community through a variety of activities focused on supporting entrepreneurship, enhancing road safety awareness, promoting vocational and technical education, offering assistance to schools and universities, empowering women and youth, and fostering community engagement.
A highlight of the initiative will be a five-day Trade Fair, which will welcome the public from July 15 to July 19 at the DPMC site. Attendees can look forward to exploring an array of products and services, engaging in live demonstrations, enjoying interactive experiences, and accessing exclusive promotional deals from several branches of the David Pieris Group, including David Pieris Motor Company, Assetline Finance, and others.
On the opening day, a Beauty and Personal Care Skills Development Programme will take place at the DPMC premises, aimed at equipping women with essential skills and knowledge in the beauty sector, thereby promoting self-employment opportunities.
Additionally, an Entrepreneurship Development Programme will be hosted at the East Lagoon Hotel on July 15, offering aspiring entrepreneurs and small business proprietors vital insights and practical guidance to help them grow and develop their enterprises.
The following day, July 16, will feature a Traffic Awareness Programme in front of the DPMC location on Trincomalee Road, designed to educate students on safe commuting habits and responsible road behavior.
On July 18, the event will celebrate Bajaj Day, which includes two specialized programs at the DPMC site. One will focus on Traffic Awareness for Three-Wheeler Drivers, emphasizing safe driving practices, while the other will be the Local Garage Training Programme, which aims to enhance the skills and service standards of independent garage owners and technicians.
The concluding day of the initiative, July 19, will showcase a Cricket Tournament at the Sivananda School Ground and a football tournament at the KV Ground in Valachchenai, promoting sportsmanship and community involvement. Concurrently, a Mechanical Training Programme for DPMC Service Dealers will be conducted at the DPMC premises, aimed at improving the technical skills of the company’s service network.
Alongside these programs, the initiative will also offer a school development program, a university internship empowerment program, a scholarship initiative for selected students, a vehicle emission testing initiative (specifically for Bajaj and KTM vehicles), and a Green Climate Action Programme throughout the week.
