DFCC Bank’s Badminton Team demonstrated remarkable prowess at the 41st Mercantile Inter-Firm Team Badminton Championships, organized by the Mercantile Badminton Association of Sri Lanka. This prestigious event, held in late 2025, featured participation from over 250 teams nationwide, establishing it as one of the most competitive inter-firm sporting events in Sri Lanka.

In a challenging and diverse competition, DFCC Bank achieved significant success in both the Mixed and Women’s categories. The team triumphed as Champions in the Mixed Category, under the leadership of Captain Nimasha Perera from the Credit Services department. Key players included Suranjan Ratwatte from the Corporate Department, Manoja De Silva from the Southern Region Office – SM OPS, Lakshan Gawarammana from the Ratnapura Branch, and Vikum Lokumudali from the Weligama Branch.

In the Women’s Category, DFCC Bank secured the position of Second Runner-Up, with representation from Captain Nimasha Perera and Manoja De Silva, demonstrating the team’s consistent performance and competitive strength across different categories.

Further enhancing their accomplishments, Team Captain Nimasha Perera was honored as the Best Player of the Category, recognizing her exceptional skill, focus, and leadership displayed throughout the tournament.
