Dialog MAS Enabler Initiative Promotes Workplace Accessibility for Individuals with Disabilities

Dialog Axiata PLC, the premier connectivity provider in Sri Lanka, in partnership with prominent apparel manufacturer MAS Holdings, has successfully wrapped up the fourth installment of the Dialog MAS Enabler Programme. This initiative aims to enhance workplace inclusion by offering structured exposure to corporate, manufacturing, and customer service sectors for individuals with disabilities (PWDs).

This year’s programme brought together a group of ten undergraduates and young professionals from esteemed public and private universities across Sri Lanka. Participants had the opportunity to interact with various Dialog and MAS environments, including corporate offices, customer service centers, and manufacturing sites, thereby gaining valuable insights into how organizations function, the expectations within the workplace, and everyday operations.

The curriculum included organized sessions focused on workplace etiquette, recruitment methods, interview preparation, and career development pathways. Participants also engaged in departmental interactions with industry experts. Additionally, Dialog and MAS collaborated with the participants to gain a deeper understanding of their lived experiences, identify ways to enhance accessibility in workplaces, and promote inclusive practices through organizational learning. Engagement initiatives were sustained throughout the programme to reinforce inclusive behaviors among teams.

Rajitha Jayasuriya, Director of Corporate Affairs and Group Legal at MAS Capital (Private) Limited, remarked, “The Dialog MAS Enabler Programme illustrates that genuine inclusion requires workplaces to evolve along with the individuals they aim to empower. Each year, we glean insights from our participants’ experiences, which aids us in cultivating environments where people of all abilities can thrive, develop, and forge meaningful careers. With our Plan for Change 2030 commitments, MAS is dedicated to ensuring that all our locations are fully accessible for employees with disabilities by 2030. Initiatives like this enable us to learn, enhance, and transform that vision into actionable outcomes.”

Asanga Priyadharshana, Group Chief Corporate Officer of Dialog Axiata PLC, stated, “Creating an inclusive workforce necessitates that organizations integrate accessibility and equitable participation into their operational frameworks. Our partnership with MAS Holdings through the Dialog MAS Enabler Programme facilitates the establishment of sustainable employment pathways while reinforcing inclusive practices within our organization. This demonstrates our enduring commitment to fostering a more resilient workforce and promoting sustainable, inclusive growth.”

Dialog Axiata and MAS Holdings remain dedicated to collaborating on initiatives that broaden employment access for individuals with disabilities while embedding accessibility and inclusive practices throughout their organizations. Through ongoing cooperation and continuous improvements in the workplace, both companies are contributing to the creation of a more diverse, resilient, and sustainable workforce that supports long-term social and economic advancement in Sri Lanka.
