DIMO Energy Expands Solar Offerings by Integrating Battery Storage Solutions

DIMO Energy, part of the DIMO group specializing in power and energy solutions, has broadened its Solar Solutions range to encompass residential offerings in addition to its existing industrial and commercial solutions. The company has also ventured into the burgeoning Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) sector in Sri Lanka under its newly branded DIMO Solar, which integrates Solar and BESS solutions. This strategic move addresses the growing demand for reliable and independent energy sources for both households and businesses.

This expansion arrives at a time when energy storage is gaining significance globally and locally, influenced by challenges in grid capacity, increasing energy prices, and the rising popularity of renewable energy. Experts predict that battery-based energy storage will play a vital role in facilitating Sri Lanka’s energy transition in the coming years by promoting grid stability, enhancing solar energy self-consumption, and bolstering resilience against power outages.

DIMO’s approach to BESS is based on delivering comprehensive solutions rather than merely supplying individual products, leveraging its extensive experience in the energy and power engineering sectors. The company collaborates with renowned technology partners, including GoodWe, Huawei, Jinko, JA, and AE, while also exploring partnerships with other leading international brands to enhance its energy storage offerings.

The BESS solutions from DIMO will be available in a modular format, starting with systems that have a capacity of 5 kWh, catering to residential, commercial, and light industrial energy storage needs. The offerings include compact, low-noise systems ideal for everyday household use, as well as higher-capacity solutions designed for larger residences and small to medium-sized commercial applications. These systems boast battery capacities ranging from 5 kWh to 16 kWh, with scalability options based on storage demands.

Shehan Amaratunga, General Manager of Power & Energy at DIMO, emphasized that the company’s competitive edge lies in its ability to provide comprehensive energy solutions rather than just individual products. He stated, “In a highly competitive market, our aim is not simply to offer a product, but to provide tailored, complete solutions—from system design and engineering to installation, commissioning, and ongoing after-sales support—utilizing globally trusted brands alongside our own technical expertise.”

DIMO Energy’s BESS portfolio is designed with a focus on safety and reliability, featuring a multi-layered safety architecture to ensure secure energy storage. These systems are also designed for quiet operation, making them suitable for both residential and commercial settings.

To reinforce its dedication to service quality, DIMO Energy has implemented a dedicated after-sales support system for its BESS products, pledging to address customer inquiries and service requests within 24 hours. Concurrently, the company is working on initiatives to enhance the affordability and accessibility of energy storage solutions, aiming to foster broader adoption across Sri Lanka.

This expansion, titled “Powering the Future,” further solidifies DIMO Energy’s position within the energy landscape, contributing to Sri Lanka’s shift towards resilient, decentralized, and sustainable power systems.
