The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) has informed District Secretaries to take steps to relocate residents living in vulnerable areas of Kandy, Kegalle, Kurunegala, and Matale districts to safe centres.

The DMC stated that this directive was issued based on red notices released by the National Building Research Organization.

With the prevailing rainy weather conditions, the NBRO has issued landslide red notices for identified risk areas within Divisional Secretariat divisions of Kandy, Kegalle, Kurunegala, and Matale districts.
