Doc990 Launches Innovative Digital Queue Management for Pharmacy Services at Galle National Hospital

Doc990, a leading provider of digital health solutions in Sri Lanka, which operates under Digital Health (Pvt) Ltd, a subsidiary of Dialog Axiata PLC, has launched a digital queue management system at Galle National Hospital. This initiative is aimed at enhancing the efficiency of pharmacy service counters in response to the high patient traffic at this prominent healthcare facility located in the Southern Province of the country.

The newly implemented system allows patients to obtain a queue number upon their arrival, facilitating their ability to monitor their status through digital displays situated within the pharmacy area. This advancement aims to improve the visibility of patient flow and alleviate congestion around the pharmacy counters.

Hospital personnel benefit from real-time backend support, which aids in managing queues and coordinating services, thereby optimizing the handling of patient volumes within the pharmacy department.

Janitth Pieris, the CEO of Doc990, emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating, “As we continue to advance the digitization of healthcare in Sri Lanka, we remain dedicated to making health services more accessible. The introduction of this digital queue system at Galle National Hospital is a testament to how real-time information and streamlined service can enhance patient experiences and bolster the public health framework across the nation.”

Dr. Lakmali Wijerathne, Deputy Director of Galle National Hospital, remarked on the importance of this project, noting, “This initiative represents a substantial move towards minimizing congestion at our pharmacy service counters by improving crowd management and overall patient flow. By optimizing access to pharmacy services, we significantly reduce waiting times and enhance convenience for our patients.”

The launch of this digital queue management system reflects Doc990’s ongoing commitment to fortifying the digital healthcare infrastructure in Sri Lanka. By providing high-traffic hospitals with effective and user-centric digital solutions, Doc990 is dedicated to expanding access to interconnected healthcare services for patients throughout the country.
