The Singer Fashion Academy recently hosted En Vogue 2026, a runway event dedicated to celebrating creativity, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage, while highlighting the emerging talent of Sri Lankan fashion designers. This marked the second iteration of the event, reaffirming the Academy’s position as a leading institution for fashion education and talent development in Sri Lanka.

En Vogue 2026 offered students pursuing a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Fashion Design a professional runway experience, allowing them to present their work in an authentic fashion show environment. The event successfully bridged the gap between education and industry, showcasing the unique design identities of the participants.

Mahesh Wijewardene, Group Managing Director of Singer Sri Lanka, commented on the occasion, stating, “Singer’s commitment to education extends beyond training to the creation of structured, industry-aligned platforms that enable young talent to transition confidently into professional careers. En Vogue 2026 demonstrates our continued investment in skills development and the preservation of Sri Lanka’s design heritage, while reinforcing the Academy’s role in developing future-ready professionals for the fashion ecosystem.”

The event featured collections from 34 Diploma in Fashion Design students across nine distinct themed segments. Additionally, seven Advanced Diploma students had the opportunity to present individual collections, marking the Academy’s first solo runway presentations. Sarees and Kandyan sarees crafted by 20 students from Singer Fashion Academies across the island were also showcased.

En Vogue 2026 distinguished itself with a mirror-effect runway, creating an immersive and visually striking experience that set it apart from previous editions. The event highlighted creativity, craftsmanship, and culture, celebrating the talent of tomorrow’s designers and the rich heritage of Sri Lankan fashion. These collections honored traditional forms while reinterpreting them through contemporary design perspectives.

Terrence Martyn, General Manager – Apparel Solutions and Fashion Academy, remarked, “En Vogue 2026 is a reflection of our commitment to nurturing well-rounded fashion professionals. By giving students a professional platform to showcase their creativity and technical skills, we are preparing them to confidently step into the industry while staying rooted in Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage.”

The event underscored Singer’s ongoing commitment to education, skills development, and the creative industries in Sri Lanka. With a presence in 52 locations nationwide and an accessible online learning platform, the Singer Fashion Academy provides students across the country the chance to pursue professional fashion education. By offering a professional runway platform for high-quality, student-designed collections, the Academy continues to support entrepreneurship, creative expression, and the growth of Sri Lanka’s fashion ecosystem.
