The 34th edition of FACETS Sri Lanka, organized by the Sri Lanka Gem & Jewellery Association, is scheduled to take place from January 4 to 6, 2027, at the prestigious Cinnamon Life in the City of Dreams, Colombo. This prominent event will feature over one hundred exhibitors showcasing the country’s top gem and jewellery enterprises. Attendees from various global markets, including the USA, Europe, the Middle East, India, China, and Thailand, are expected to gather in Colombo to explore the exceptional craftsmanship and quality of Sri Lankan gemstones.
A press conference held to announce this upcoming edition brought together influential figures from both the public and private sectors. Key speakers, including Prof. S. P. Chaminda, Chairman of the National Gem & Jewellery Authority (NGJA), Mangala Wijesinghe, Chairman of the Export Development Board (EDB), and Roshan George, Hotel Manager of Cinnamon Life, emphasized their organizations’ dedication to supporting Sri Lanka’s leading international gem and jewellery exhibition.
This year’s FACETS will feature specialized sections highlighting the island’s renowned sapphires and modern luxury jewellery. Additionally, a range of unique events such as Sapphire Night, Story Corner, Power Breakfast, Mine Tour, and Port City Tour will provide attendees with opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange, and collaboration.
The success of FACETS Sri Lanka is bolstered by the ongoing support from the EDB and NGJA. As long-time collaborators, the EDB plays a vital role in linking Sri Lanka’s gem and jewellery sector with international markets, while the NGJA ensures the maintenance of industry standards and promotes sustainable growth within the sector. Together with the Sri Lanka Gem & Jewellery Association (SLGJA), they have positioned FACETS as the nation’s foremost international gem and jewellery exhibition.
During the media conference, the SLGJA revealed the theme for FACETS 2027 along with a promotional video and also announced the event dates for the subsequent three years: FACETS Sri Lanka 2028 will occur from January 5 to 7, 2029 from January 4 to 6, and FACETS Sri Lanka 2030 from January 6 to 8.
