First Capital Asset Management Limited Appoints Kavin Karunamoorthy to the Board of Directors

First Capital Asset Management Limited, a subsidiary of First Capital Holdings PLC, is pleased to announce the appointment of Kavin Karunamoorthy as a Non-Independent Executive Director to the Company’s Board of Directors, effective December 2025.

Kavin currently holds the position of Chief Executive Officer at First Capital Asset Management Limited, a role he has occupied since April 2025. With over 23 years of extensive experience in treasury and investment banking, his appointment further enhances the Company’s leadership and governance structure.

A seasoned financial expert, Kavin is a Licensed Investment Advisor (CSE) with substantial expertise in various areas, including fixed income dealing, foreign exchange, asset and liability management, corporate finance, and fund management. His broad industry experience has been cultivated through both local and international roles, including significant tenures at prominent financial institutions such as Nations Trust Bank, DFCC Bank, and the National Savings Bank.

Kavin’s academic qualifications include a Master of Business Administration from Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK. He also possesses a Dealing Certificate from the ACI Financial Markets Association, Paris, reflecting his dedication to continuous learning and professional excellence. Throughout his career, including more than seven years with First Capital, he has undergone extensive training in treasury operations, investment management, and asset and liability management.

With this appointment, the Board of Directors of First Capital Asset Management Limited is now composed of Nishan De Mel – Chairman / Independent Non-Executive Director, Kuda Banda Herath – Independent Non-Executive Director, Dilshan Wirasekara – Non-Independent Non-Executive Director, and Kavin Karunamoorthy – Newly Appointed Non-Independent Executive Director / CEO.
