Direct passenger flights between Ahmedabad and Colombo are set to commence on May 15, facilitated by a partnership among City of Dreams Sri Lanka, Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, Walkers Tours, and the Sri Lankan carrier FitsAir. This service, operating three times weekly, is designed to enhance connectivity for Indian travelers to Sri Lanka’s integrated resort destination.
FitsAir, recognized as Sri Lanka’s first private international airline, will manage this scheduled service, focusing on attracting travelers from Gujarat. Tourism stakeholders have identified Gujarat as a rapidly growing source market for Sri Lanka. The flight route is anticipated to bolster leisure travel and strengthen tourism connections between western India and the island nation.
With Gujarat emerging as a key tourism market, travel companies have noted an increase in outbound travel and a growing interest in Sri Lanka as a leisure destination. The region’s robust travel trade network and the demand for international holidays have positioned it as a vital market for promoting Sri Lankan tourism.
The flights are also expected to facilitate visits to City of Dreams Sri Lanka, an integrated resort project in Colombo, aimed at establishing the city as a regional hub for entertainment, leisure, and lifestyle tourism. Visitors have the option to stay at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams or at other properties managed by Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts in Colombo, such as Cinnamon Grand Colombo, Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo, and Cinnamon Red Colombo.
The newly established route will be complemented by travel packages for Indian visitors. These packages integrate a stay in Colombo with multi-destination itineraries across Sri Lanka, including cultural excursions to Kandy and beach stays at Cinnamon resorts.

Bookings are currently available through curated Cinnamon travel packages starting from ₹55,555. The package includes return airfare, two nights’ accommodation with breakfast at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams, and private airport transfers.
