The gem and jewellery sector of Sri Lanka is being urged to gain international recognition as the JEWELS 2026 International Gem & Jewellery Exhibition & Competition is set to occur from December 4 to 6, 2026, at the Colombo Lotus Tower.
Hosted by the Gemmologists Association of Sri Lanka (GASL) under the theme “From Sri Lanka to the World,” the JEWELS 2026 event aims to unite a diverse array of participants including gem traders, jewellers, designers, manufacturers, gemmologists, educators, and emerging enterprises in one venue.
Initially introduced as a mineral exhibition in 2002 and rebranded as JEWELS in 2008, this event has transformed into a comprehensive platform that integrates trade, education, craftsmanship, competitive spirit, and industry advancement.
Mrs. Chathurangani Arthanayaka, the President of GASL, stated, “Sri Lanka possesses a remarkable legacy in gems and jewellery. JEWELS 2026 will showcase this heritage along with the creativity and innovation present in today’s market.” Additionally, Mr. Shehan Daulagala, the President-Elect of GASL and Chairman for JEWELS 2026, noted that “JEWELS 2026 presents businesses with a chance to highlight their capabilities, engage with new markets, and foster valuable industry connections.”
The exhibition will include the JEWELS Competition, which promotes education and professional excellence in conjunction with trade opportunities. GASL is encouraging businesses in the sector to register for their exhibition spaces promptly to maximize visibility and engage with international audiences at JEWELS 2026.
